Mardi has managed various NGOs, civil society organizations, and corporate foundations these past thirty years. She has held top government posts, both in its executive and legislative branches. She has also held many leadership positions in national and international organizations, inspiring and mobilizing many in the work for social change.

Mardi has expertise in strategic planning, policy dialogue, creative advocacy, and social mobilization, with specialization in development areas of good governance, peace and human rights, health partnerships, micro-finance, enterprise development, and the rights of the child. She has managed several foreign-funded projects for USAID, CIDA, EU, WB, and UNDP, and was recently the Local Governance Specialist for AusAID Manila.
In the Philippine government, Mardi was Chair of the National Youth Commission under the Cory administration, elected Provincial Board Member of Negros Occidental, and was Director of the Office for the Presidential Adviser for the Peace Process, handling peace talks between the government and rebel groups.
Mardi has been facilitating workshops for people of all ages, here and abroad. She has had extensive global involvement and travel experience with various international organizations and events. She is a certified FranklinCovey facilitator for The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People workshop.
Mardi is presently the Country Program Manager for the Fred Hollows Foundation in the Philippines. Her exposure in the corporate world includes work with the Life Bank Foundation as Vice President, with SM City Bacolod as Assistant Mall Manager, with the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines as CSR Specialist, and with Central Negros Power Corporation as Corporate Communications Director. Mardi was also a TV show host for Negros Information Channel talk shows.
Mardi is married to USLS Professor Ernesto Suplido and together they have four children, who all facilitate The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens workshop. Their family received the first Jollibee Family Values Award in 2011.
